Natural Acne Skin Care Treatment

Does a natural acne skin care treatment work? Absolutely! Not putting the foods that cause acne in your body and putting organic and natural acne skin care solutions on your body can create exactly the help for acne you are looking for.

Acne Skin Care Treatment - Male The first place to start for a natural acne skin care treatment is with what you put in your mouth. There is definitely a dietary factor in skin health in general and acne in particular so please check out the many Begin Within Natural Skincare pages that have to do with food for healthy skin, foods that cause acne and the role that diet plays in Candida overgrowth.

In addition to the dietary part of a natural acne skin care treatment, however, there are a range of natural organic skin care products and practises that need to be considered as part of a natural acne solution.

Over the Counter Acne Treatment

When considering over the counter (OTC) acne treatment products as part of a natural acne skin care regime, remember the primary importance of choosing products that are healthy for your body and healthy for your skin. It is not worth the long term sacrifice of liver health or using products that contain potentially carcinogenic ingredients in a short term attempt to clear up blemishes. Before choosing any OTC acne treatment, have a thorough read of Begin Within Natural Skincare's information on doing skin care product reviews. Understand which ingredients you are looking for in a product and which you need to avoid, then make your purchases accordingly.

I am done week three [of the cleanse] today... things are going ok. My face is good.... I noticed a lot of little bumps, not red ones, which have come to the surface. There are still some blemishes but overall my face is clearer and forehead is absolutely clear. I am hopeful.  MP

Along with dietary change and appropriate acne supplements, there are a few OTC natural acne skin care treatments that I have found most effective with my clients. For the easiest and a very effective topical relief of acne consider using an organic product such as Miessence's Purifying Blemish Gel or dabbing tea tree oil on effected areas—use a single drop of tea tree oil per blemish.

In addition, organic extra virgin coconut oil—Garden of Life, Alpha or Tropical Traditions are great—can be applied before bed either alone, or with turmeric added to the coconut oil to make a creamy paste. Dab the turmeric paste on blemishes and the surrounding area. Let the paste dry at least 20 minutes before bedtime, so as not to stain pillows, and rinse off in the morning. The turmeric/coconut oil combination is very effective at drying out acne and removing blemishes. Because excess amounts of turmeric in the paste can temporarily stain the skin, start with a small amount and test the skin in an inconspicuous spot.

Additional Natural Acne Skin Care Treatment Recommendations

There are a variety of other factors that can contribute to acne and best natural acne skin care recommendations include looking at:
  • Stress—look for ways to decrease stress levels. Prayer, mediation, aromatherapy, acupressure techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique and mild exercise can all be helpful tools. Additionally, if acne seems stress-related, it may respond particularly well to zinc, per the supplement recommendations on the Natural Acne Cures page.
  • Sunshine—safe sunlight exposure (i.e. avoiding most sunscreens, gradually building up sun time, never burning, keeping skin covered during the times in the day when the sun's effects are strongest) is helpful for most types of acne.
  • Sleep—ensure sufficient sleep and relaxation. Utilize appropriate sleep techniques and include restful and relaxing activities on a regular basis.
